It’s inevitable: at some point or another, you’ll have to replace your air conditioner. The question homeowners ask, is, when? Too soon and you’ll be wasting money, but waiting too late won’t do, either.
There are a few warning signs that you might need to start looking into a new system and contacting your local Phoenix HVAC professionals. The first, of course, is if your system is 10 years older or more. If that’s the case, it’s definitely time to replace; there’s no way a system from a decade ago can keep up with newer efficiency, especially with the way technology is moving forward. If you need frequent AC repair or you’ve noticed that your energy bills are absurdly high, you might need to find a new unit.
A house that’s heated unevenly could also be a sign that you need a new system. Of course, uneven heating could also be caused by a broken unit (that’s repairable) or air duct problems, but when none of those seem to be the answer, it’s better to replace your system.
If your heating or cooling system is noisy, it could mean that you have an undersized duct or a problem with your interior coils. Getting a repairman out there ASAP is important, but, again, if the problem is size, be ready to replace.
In the long run, it’s better to replace than try to make do with an inadequate system—you save yourself stress, and you save yourself money on overblown energy costs.
